carving pumpkins

For FHE we carved our pumpkins with our friends the Bohns. We grew some pumpkins in our garden this year, but before we harvested them someone stole the big ones out of our garden! So the little ones that the girls are coloring are the ones we grew and Eric is carving the 2 we bought from Walmart to console Kallyn. She was so upset that someone would take her pumpkin she cared for all summer! But I think that by this time she had forgotten all about it.

PSYCHO!

Allison's master piece.
Kallyn and her tongue!! You can tell when she's concentrating, just like her daddy.

Sweet Gretta! By the time we were finished the poor pumpkin thought it was an overgrown blueberry!

Pancake Breakfast traditions

I remember when my mom used to make Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes when I was little. My girls eat pancakes no matter how I make them, but I still like to spark up my creativity. This is my latest pancake creation. Kallyn was super estatic about being able to eat her name! But Kallyn thought the "N" looked more like an elephant. I think I can see it, but it just looks like an "N" made from the last scrapings of the bowl.

Little Joker

One of my girls favorite things to do is drink out of daddy's water bottle. He has this dark blue Nalgene bottle that he makes Crystal Light in and of course his favorite flavors are dark red. So often I find my girls have a Joker Smile stained on their face. Most of the times with Allison it stains all the way around up over her nose!

My creative Kallyn

Kallyn is so creative and imaginative. I don't know what sparked her thoughts to come up with this game, but she made up this game to play with little kids to hel them learn how to use spoons! The object of the game is to pick up little pieces of paper and rolled up tissues with a spoon and dump them into the little tea pot. And it's ok if they acidently fall - "You're just learning!" We spent a while playing with Allison and taking turns with our spoons!

My belly popped! This is an old picture (I'm now 20 weeks) but I am amazed how I went from nearly flat to "Wow! I can see your little bump!".

It's a ......

We didn't get a picture of the gender shot, so you'll all have to make due with these cute profiles! Yes they all look the same and Kallyn asks how we are supposed to know if it's a girl or a boy looking at the cheeks. I hope she never grows out of her little inquisitive phase, but can someone else please explain how they can tell if a baby is a brother or a sister?
I love this last one! The cute puckering lips!
Alright, alright!!! The tech said "IT" is a "Girl". So I'm hauling all my baby clothes (the whole 2 Kinkos paper boxes full of 0-18 mos clothes that we kept from NM) down from the attic to start my baby gear inventory. Of course my girls were late summer season and this one will be early spring, so ..... I get new baby clothes to make up for waiting for my boy!

It's coming.........

I took the dreaded look at the weather forecast for this week. What I found for tomorrow during the day and night is that the day is going to be wet!!!

(that's 100% chance of precipitation)

But the dreaded part is this.....

What are those little white things suspended in this picture? That's right! The weather put it like this: "60% rain/snow likely"

SNOW????????
Welcome to New Hampshire! Get ready to freeze!

(on a brighter note- so far Friday is supposed to be sunny, high of 55, Friday night mostly cloudy)
So Halloween should still be nice! (which is the reason I was checking the weather!)

Flume Gorge, NH

We spent last Saturday out in the beautiful fall colors in Franconia Notch State Park hiking the Flume Gorge. Wow! It was amazing! Thank you Coils for encouraging us to come with you!

Check this tree out!! It's hangin' on for life!

Fish Family in the Bears cave.

Daddy and his girls!

Sweet darlings! A short break at the top of the gorge before we made our way around the trail and back to the visitors center. The girls were posing for me and singing "we're going on a bear hunt"

Daddy switched off giving the girls rides, but the both walked most of the 2.1 miles! I was impressed!
