I have looked
forward to the
Barrister's Ball all year!!!! I
love any chance to dance with my
sweetheart!! But it almost didn't happen!!! I was in the shower ahead of schedule. Brielle was in the tub with me so that the girls didn't
torture her while I was distracted. But instead they decided to pretend to be
sugar fairies and sprinkle (more like dump) sugar on EVERY surface of the kitchen. And then they got that
terrible feeling inside that tells them that what they are doing will probably not go over well with the boss and before she gets out of the shower they should clean it up and
destroy any evidence. "Hmmmm. How should we clean it up?- I know!!! Mom always uses a
wet sponge to clean the kitchen!!!" So you can imagine
what I found when I got out! Granulated sugar
EVERYWHERE!!! And this is the time when ants start coming into the houses! Great!!!! I tried my best to
stay calm, I tried to baracade Brielle in the bathroom (wet naked baby on the loose among
sticky sugar!!!) and called Eric urging him to get home ASAP!!!!! He
runs home to find me semi wrapped in a towel trying to keep Brielle in the bathroom and very
urgently informing the girls that if they move even a nano inch they will NOT be sleeping over at Leyna's house! Sweet Eric! He threw the girls into the shower (now cold because I had taken extra time in the shower to pamper for the big event), and somehow figured out how to clean up the sugar in
record time and managed to keep from getting sticky himself!
Amazing!
We went with a smaller crowd this year, but it was still amazingly awesome!!! And although the food was OK the dessert made it worth the $60!!!!!! And they actually got a DJ that knew how to play real dancing music this year!!!!! The highlight of the night was when 4 guys asked me to dance!! Wow!!! This was better than my odds back in my Single's Ward days!!!! Thankfully one had dibbs for the whole evening and I had to graciously decline the other 3. It sure gave me a good laugh with Eric afterwards!!!
